Statement Of Faith

The Bible: The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (II Tim 3:16-17; I Thes. 2:13; II Pet. 1:19-21)

God: We believe in the eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and immutable triune God - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Heb. 1:8; I Jon. 5:7; I Tim. 1:17; Jon. 14:26)

Man, his fall and redemption: Man is created in the likeness and image of God. Through Adam's transgression, mankind fell and sin entered the world. Jesus came to destroy the work of the devil, gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus, producing works acceptable to God. (Gen. 1:27; Rom. 3:10,23, 5:12; I Jon. 3:8; Eph. 2:8)

The New Birth: Man's first step towards salvation is Godly sorrow that brings repentance. The new birth is available to all and takes place when Jesus is accepted as Savior. Man is born again. His spirit becomes alive to God eternally. (II Cor. 5:17, 7:10; I Jon. 5:12; Jon. 3:3-5)

Water Baptism: Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian's identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. (Mat. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Act. 2:38, 8:36-39)

Baptism in the Holy Spirit: The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God to those who believe and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues. (Mat. 3:11; Act. 1:8, 2:4. 2:38-39, 19:6)

Gifts of the Holy Spirit: We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as listed in I Cor. 12:7-11, are supernatural, for today, necessary and a normal part of the Christian life. The gifts are word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, diverse kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues.

Divine Health and Healing: We believe that both divine health and healing are provided in the atonement of Christ and are available to every Christian. (isa. 53:4-5; Mat. 8:17; Rom. 8:11; Jam. 5:14-16; I Pet. 2:24)

Sanctification: The Bible teaches without holiness, no man can see the Lord. We believe in sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the comsummation of salvation. (Heb. 12:14; I The. 5:23; II Pet. 3:18; II Cor. 3:18)

Ressurection: We believe in the literal bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the ressurection of all who are born again through Jesus Christ. (Mat. 28:1-7; I Cor. 15:1-20)

Second Coming of Christ: We believe the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent. Christ's command to us is simple: preach the Gospel and occupy until He comes. (Rev. 1:7; Jon. 14:2-3; II The. 1:7-10, 2:8; Luk. 19:13)

Hell and Eternal Judgment: Hell is a literal place prepared by God for the devil and his angels. Those who physically die in their sins without Christ are hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire, with no further opportunity of hearing the gospel or for repentance. (Mat. 25:41; Heb. 9:27; Rev. 20:10-15)

Heaven: We believe heaven is the habitation of the living God, where Christ has gone to prepare a place for all His children, where they shall dwell in happiness forever with Him. (I Cor. 2:9; Jon. 14:12; Rev. 21:4, 22:5)
